Businessman, judge, lawyer. Joseph Drummond Hunt was born in Lexington, Ky., August 14, 1838. He received his B. S. degree from Centre College, Danville, Ky. in 1857 and his LLD degree from the University of Louisville in 1861. In 1862 he joined the Confederate Army as a private in the Eighth Kentucky Cavalry.
